When there's a special occasion coming up and I need to prepare a party treat for several guests that come over, I'm sticking to the simple party recipes, serving basic foods that require minimal effort but visually look great, with an even greater and delectable taste.
Sure, I might 'test' some of the recipes on my guests, but I've only received a lot of praises for my party menu, guests loved it and invited themselves over for more, later on.
I'd like to think of food as a 'glue' that brings people together during a party, a key component that never fails to deliver.
Without further ado, here are some of my favorite picks as party food ideas.
Finger food pizza
This is an instant hit, especially if you take your time to prepare an exquisite homemade pizza. The secret to a successful pizza party? Getting creative with the knife, slicing the pizza however you like: bite-size pieces, pizza circle rolls, pizza triangle slices with a twist, etc.
You can also enhance the pizza 'temptation' by adding some tasty spices, new and addictive ingredients your guests will instantly appreciate.

You actually find these delights on some picnic or outdoor party menus, but I'm here to let you know I want to establish the quiche as a top-rated party recipe.
Quiches are fast-to-prepare treats, and bite sized portions are perfect for any types of party. They include variation, either cheesy, either meaty, a tasty treat that leaves all the serving plates empty immediately.
I should mention you can prepare these in advance, store them in the fridge and serve them as soon as your guests arrive.

Aubergine party madness
Eggplants are so underrated! I cook eggplants in all sort of meals: salads, veggie dips, curries, grills, fried, baked, even in pasta. The eggplants, however you cook them, are great flavour soakers, delivering a powerful 'punch' to the taste buds every time, and this is why you need to include them in your party menu.
Aubergines are a perfect party nibble, an unforgettable party appetizer that amazes instantly.
Some slicing is required, but it's well worth it, the aubergines will be instantly appreciated by your guests.

Miso Aubergines

Dessert-only party recipes
If your party plan is to skip dinner and go straight to dessert, start strong and end with standing ovations.
Several dessert party ideas pop in my head: 10 minute cupcakes, small but yummy tarts, homemade chocolate squares and bars, oh-so-good cakes, brownies, truffles, even fondue.
Plenty to choose from, but I'm sticking to the strong and impactful choices: cakes, pies, cookies. The important forte: small bite size shapes, instant gratification, taste buds explosion.
These dessert party ideas can also be implemented for kids parties, since the sweet-tooth has no age restrictions 🙂
